SUMMIT LOGISTICS
Fireside Room vs. Great Hall
You will notice there are two rooms listed on the agenda–the Great Hall and the Fireside Room. Activities will run concurrently in both spaces throughout the Summit for different purposes:
GREAT HALL
This is where panels, presentations, keynote addresses, catered meals, and musical performances will take place. Please note that we are at venue capacity, so please meet neighbors, share tables, and be generous and courteous with space!
FIRESIDE ROOM
This space will host Continued Conversations (defined as presentation and session overflow conversation – see next section for more info), small group workshops, activities such as Tai Chi and mindful movement, group meetings, closed AND open door sessions. It is open during Thursday night’s networking evening for conversation and organic small group meetings.
What is a “Continued Conversation?”
This is a space to keep rich conversations going after a panel or presentation! As some panelists or presenters leave the stage, they will head to the nearby Fireside Room where audience members may continue discussing a given topic. Not only do we know presenters have more to share, we know others have questions and talking points – we hope you take advantage of this time together!
Take breaks as needed
Each day of the Summit–especially in the Great Hall–will be abuzz with programming. Our intention when planning this event was to honor as many voices as possible during our time together. ORS is a community-led event, and this is YOUR event. Thank you for sharing the stage.
Lengthy breaks are not scheduled, so please use your discretion and take time for yourself or step away for a moment…whenever needed! The venue has lots of lovely smaller spaces–formal and informal–to catch a side conversation, chat with new friends, or dive deeper into a new area of interest. Programming will be ongoing in the Great Hall all three days, with more intimate workshops, group meetings, and continued conversations taking place at a more relaxed, though still scheduled, pace in the Fireside Room.
