Who Are We?
The Oregon Resilience Summit signifies a unique alliance, bringing together many organizations, each representing distinct missions and perspectives on disaster response. The Summit is produced by nonprofit hosts working in this sector and Kelley & Co. (providing capacity and technical assistance support). The Summit is made possible by our generous and diverse sponsors (visit the ORS 2024 page for a list of past sponsors and co hosts)
But who are we, really? The Summit is a community-led and informed event, meaning content and curation is supported by dozens of CBOs, survivors, philanthropic entities and more – possibly even you! We hold a shared vision of connecting communities to our state’s greatest resource – one another – as together we tackle the tough conversations, celebrate the wins, identify the gaps, and look towards what’s next.
Why a Summit?
In the wake of the compounding disasters Oregonians have experienced over the past few years, nonprofits and community based organizations across the state came to aid their communities with a variety of services and supports. As with any complex endeavor, eventually there was a unanimous, statewide feeling that we needed to get in the same room and talk. To debrief, grieve, and celebrate what was learned in the spirit of moving forward and continuing to build together – building community, trust, cross-sector collaboration, and all else.
